You realize that eating at home, making your own food rather than buying pre-made meals is a great way to save money. What you don't probably realize is that the more healthy you cook (most of the times) the more you save!
That being you can add other ways to save in the kitchen.
This is one of the suggestion I got from some of my followers that deal with me IRL. The place where you most spend in your house is probably the kitchen. Heating energy, water, food etc. etc. etc.
From now on I will take that in consideration and explore more of that (aswell as the fuel saving, saving everyday outside, etc.)
There are some basic concepts like: don't throw away food if it's good since it can potencially "stretch" future meals; or having a clean a organized kitchen makes you spend less energy; and on an on...
So today I leave you with this simple recips and tips ;)
It would never have occurred to me to use credit cards as scrapers. That's an excellent idea.

This is right up my alley! Hmmm, credit cards...a much better use for them than the traditional one.
ReplyDeleteand easier in your budget too :D

ReplyDeletethat's not healty at all!! but I guess sometimes I am like you..

I could probably write a book about this since I am extremely rational with food and I know how to save money in the house :)

DeleteI saw something the other day where you can use the raised letters and numbers to grate up garlic cloves. People come up with so many interesting things. Thanks for the visit and sharing these videos.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Great tips, and who doesn't need tips for saving money in the kitchen? But use "Old" credit cards or expired "gift" cards for scraping. You don't want to break a credit card you might want to use that evening.
ReplyDeleteit is def much cheaper to eat at home...and to get creative with left overs as well....ha some pretty cool tips too...
ReplyDeleteHome meals is the way to go. A lot of people say they don't have the time, but I find that making in bulk and reheating throughout the week does wonders. Pasta for example, just reheat with a different sauce and sides and it's completely different. Add tomatoes or stir fry veggies or -- list is infinite.
ReplyDeleteWe rarely eat out. Home made food is generally cheaper & tastier & definitely healthier too. Crockpots are a life saver on those extra busy days!
ReplyDeleteI really need to learn how to cook... Thanks for the videos! Love your blog and following it now :)
